To The Editors

Dear Sir or Madam:

Oh Where Oh Where?

On this day I drove around for over two hours, both inside and outside town limits, and never once saw one police of sheriff cruiser.

I did however observe the following:

Ø       Numerous vehicles exceeding the speed limit.

Ø       Vehicles passing in no passing zones.

Ø       Vehicles crossing double yellow lines because they were traveling too fast going into and out of curves.

Ø       Vehicles running red lights.

The parish Department of Public Works has in the past year made an excellent effort to install road signs throughout the parish to eliminate the shameful traffic accident and fatality rate this parish has acquired. Yet our law enforcement still refuses to enforce those road signs.

I for one would like to know when in fact they intend to crack down on traffic violations.
