Boudreaux Road, Gonzales Update June 11, 2000 Mr. Bill Roux Re: Boudreaux Road
Dear Sir: I bring to your attention again a serious safety hazard existing at Boudreaux Road in Gonzales. That being the lack of warning signs at the southwest corner of the bridge pictured below. I put the parish on notice of this serious safety issue with a letter and pictures to the parish president on April 5, 2000. To date, after three or four follow-up phone calls to Mr. Doyle Mitchell in the past two weeks, nothing has been done. If my memory serves me correctly in my last conversation to Mr. Mitchell he stated that he had just been too busy.
If you, or your staff, would take the time to investigate this issue, you would find that the existing road is not centered with the bridge. Hence the anomaly pictured. You’d also find yellow and black-stripped caution signs pointing in the wrong direction and in the wrong location, also pictured here. What is it going to take to resolve this issue? Injury or possibly death because of the lack of a caution sign that cost a few dollars? I might also add here that it seems to me that since Mr. George Brown has left his position with public works that it’s back to business as usual practiced by the past administration. That being, doing nothing, or taking an unreasonable amount of time to resolve complaints turned in by parish residents. Note that the previous paragraph has been changed from its original syntax. Click here for an explanation. I would appreciate your immediate attention to this safety issue. Sincerely,
