June 14, 2000 Mr. Bill Roux Re: Boudreaux Road Dear Sir: I bring to your attention again a serious safety hazard existing at Cal Road in Gonzales. That being The absence of guard rails, and lack of sufficient warning signs alerting motorists to the danger that exists. I put the parish on notice of this serious safety issue with a letter and pictures to the parish president on April 9, 2000. Again as stated in my letter concerning Boudreaux Road, follow up calls to Mr. Doyle Mitchell have gone unanswered as to the status of this safety issue.
Common courtesy would dictate at the very least your acknowledgement of this email, and the previous email concerning the Boudreaux Road safety issue. At this time I'll assume that the absence of a reply is due to the fact that you are very busy. But, as time goes by, I'll have to assume that you are just being down right uncooperative. To the
Ascension Parish President et al
Sir,
Numerous
follow up requests to the DPW of a formal notice I submitted April 9,
2000 as to what I believe to be serious safety hazards with regards to Cal
Road have fallen of deaf
ears. As of this date I see absolutely no effort on the parish's part
to remedy this situation.
Might I remind
you of Boudreaux Road? I submitted a formal notice of safety hazards, and
two follow up requests for that road, and nothing was done until after a
nineteen year old boy lost his life there.
Whether or not
an effort by the parish would have prevented this needless death is
anybody's guess. But, as they say, "an ounce of prevention".
I would
appreciate your immediate attention and remedies to the safety issues that
now exist on Cal Road.
Chuck Le Mieux
