Sir: There is still a very serious safety problem looming over students and parents at the Dutchtown Primary School at the highway 74-school zone. This safety hazard exists because of the way students are being picked up. Day school vans are being loaded first. This takes a good 10 minutes or more. In this time vehicles back up on both sides of highway 74 because of the sheer number of parents that pick up their children. The day school vans should be loaded last. Or these vans should be loaded from the highway 73 side of the school with the rest of the school buses. This would considerably reduce or possibly eliminate the back up of vehicles on to highway 74. Along with this serious safety problem is the fact that vehicles are not adhering to the twenty-five mile an hour speed limit posted for the school zone A simple phone call from you to the sheriffs office would remove this problem. But I understand that you have a very busy schedule, and finding ten minutes for a phone call to protect students and their parents would be very difficult. Hopefully you will take the initiative to leave the comfort of your office and investigate this problem personally. In my opinion this is what any good school superintendent would do. But, because you and your staff did not see fit to assist me in my efforts in the past to get the school zone put in place, eliminate the back pack issue, or eliminate the severe temperatures in the school gym, I doubt very much if you will do anything this time around either. Prove me wrong Mr.
Clouatre show up at Dutchtown at 3:15 PM and do the job you are, in my opinion,
being overpaid to do.
