On July 27th I again called the Ascension Sheriff Dept and asked for an update as to what had been done to make St Landry Road safe. I was again told there was no information in their computer to substantiate anything had been done with regards to either of the two complaints I had filed. I then asked that deputy Jonathan Lupes leave me a voice mail on July 28th to bring me up to date on the complaint I filed on July 17th. I received no such voice mail or any other form of communication per my request.

Today July 29th, I drove to St Landry Road and investigated the situation myself. The road has been cleaned off, but there is only one sign in one direction warning of vehicles entering and exiting the construction site. I believe if the sheriff dept had the initiative to follow up on the complaint there would be signs in both directions, or hopefully a citation issued at minimum, But, I'm starting to reinforce my belief that our sheriff dept either has no teeth to enforce the laws or just doesn't give a damn.
